I ammmmmm bbbacccckkk!

Yes it is 86 glorious degrees and I am heading for dinner and a beach walk at TI with Beachy!  Woo hoo!
The “package” (Millie) is back at her la casa safe and sound.  She is pretty tired and so am I.

Why you say?  well Cuz#2 arrived LATE friday night.  To kill time #4 and I went to see #1 and his family.  we proceed to get buzzed and I was having fun busting chops with my cuz.  #1 Cuz is your typical NY boy.  The hair, the accent, the attitude and it is so funny to me sometime to see him interact with a family.  I know twisted but that is me.  He gave funny dating advice after we discussed my divorce.  If I am drunk one night while I am blogging, I might share.

Anyway since #2 hit town I could no longer get on the PC cause he was hogging it up!  Well, and we were busy too getting ready for the communion and last night I finally ran out of juice about 10pm. 

I had sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much fun hanging out with the fam.  I am trying to figure out a way to visit every 3 to 4 months.  I mean, why not?  will try to upload some pics by tonight or tomorrow.  Got a busy week at work ahead of me and Cinco de dodgeball practice on Saturday at the beach.

Millie-ism Installment #2

yesterday #5 and I took her to see her sister Susie at the nursing home.  It was sad …her sister has declined quite a bit since Millie had last seen her (2yrs ago) and she didnt recongize Millie.  So we visited for a while but we both could tell that it really bothered her.  We took her to lunch after where she started imparting more gems. 

On family – Everyone is out for their own blood.  You stick with family (and she isn’t even the Scilian one)

On love the 2nd time (cause she asks me all the time now if I am dating yet) “you tell him, no money, no honey”

Today #3 is coming into town.  the weather is CRAPPY – pray for sunny skies for saturday so we can make it to Coney Island!

Cuz #5 has started his own blog Cuz#5 is the one who is the actor and I have put some of his short clips on my site before.  I am having so much fun hanging out with him at his apt.  I got to hangout with #4 last night for a bit.  It is probably good we don’t live in the same town for the sake of our livers.

oh my!  more Millie-isms later.  Staying with Cuz #5 who has a pretty fast internet access so I can keep you all posted.  Last night she busted out with “the children suffer for their parents sins”  #5 thought that explained a lot since he is a struggling actor.  oh AND she keeps calling me a pain in the ass.  Now you know where I get it from.

Cuz #3, #4, #5 and I were up late last night catching up – it was great.  We drew straws to see who was going to take Grandma to see her sister Suzy over in Flushing.  #5 & I drew the short straw for this task.  Sister Suzy is in a home and doesn’t recognize anyone anymore …don’t worry, I’ll take my camera and Wilbur the traveling pig will be in tow.

Millie-isms – Installment 1

Hi all – started vacation today with grandma Millie.  I am basically her traveling companion to get her to NY to see my cousins and their kids.  The package and I arrived safely and we are now hanging out at Cuz #3′s house (we all have the same name based on fine Italian tradition so I might as well use #s).  I have made us some lunch after using the secret code in and now I have gotten the home office rocking and rolling.  I actually have a conference call in 1/2 hour for work and then I should be done.  woo hoo!

So for those who don’t know Millie – she is the traditional Italian granny from NYC.  yeah, she has lived in FL for awhile but you can’t take the city out of this girl.  She is also full of sage advice that she loves to give to all my friends – such as “Love is blind, marriage is the eye opener”  or “check his bank book” or “Have you met his/her people yet?  you have to know their ways”

so today this page is dedicated to her because she busted out with a beauty this AM.  It was so classic Millie that i am going to write these down the next few days so I can savor them for future and pass on when needed.

Of course I looked, and right by the raisins one of those cheap cherry lollys.  Good times!

Busy week!

Much like Acid, I have been going through changes at work too.  While she has been “Nationalized”, I have had the joy of going through a merger.  If you recall from past rantings some of it good, some of it just annoying.   This week my new boss was in town and then my new staff were in later.  I feel like all I have been doing is meeting and entertaining.  Took the department out bowling for a team builder.  We had a blast.  Some pics were taken by the staffers so who knows I might actually get one posted.  It was a good week but man, busy.  Coupled with a couple of National task forces I am on, when do I get to do my own work?  I know I shouldn’t complain because I basically like my job, like most of the people I work with, have a great department and boss … I dunno, this job can consume you and I don’t want that to happen.  Since I am basically alone now, that could be so easy to do.  Must fight it and still make time for friends, family and the beach!

So with that said, lots on tap for this weekend.  Today starts bride day extravaganza.  Beachy’s brother is getting married 6/30.  Today is the bridal shower for JLL who actually has a xanga site but never leaves me comments you slacker!  Anyway starting with a tea and then Beachy and her mom and I will go look for mother of the groom dresses followed by coed beach pub crawl.  Naturally I am looking forward to this last bit.  I had put myself in timeout for drinking to save $ and to make sure I wasn’t using it as a crutch …but tonight I’ll be back and looking forward.  Not sure if that makes me a JD crutch lover or not …feel free to weigh in.

Monday baseball game – cowbell night at the Devil Rays vs. Yankees.

Wed – leave for NY with granny in tow to hangout with the cousins!  REALLY looking forward to this.  Will be there through the 30th.  Not happy with the cold/rainy weather predicted but I have already been told to quit whining …hmm me?  Just because I will not be able to see the sun for 5 days and Jones Beach is not my beach and face it they are not going to take me there any way ….oh I am whining – ha ha

For you hockey fans out there – you Edict – um send some love to the Lightening pls!

Finally for you music fans out there what do you think it means that all I want to listen to for the past 24 hrs is The Guess Who, Three Dog Night, Blood Sweat and Tears and Janis Joplin?  It makes me think of when I was a kid and I had babysitters blasting Joy to the World as they smoked pot and let me listen to their “big kids” real music.  Meaning?  Dunno.  Maybe I wanna be a big kid

Friday the 13th …and I am feeling good …

I have about 1 hour and 15mins left to go so maybe I should not be so cocky but man, no bad luck today, only good.  Ran into an old friend who I have not seen in YEARS.  She looks great and we are going to catch up soon – yeah.  Actually only spent $11.77 in the Aveda store.  I know, some of you had to sit down for that one but it is true.  Got Jen Lee Laws Kapoh Kapow KaBams gift for next’s weeks bridal shower extravaganza and even a little something for me – I was at Macy’s after all and it was on sale and it is something to wear to her party and to other summer functions ….

Got most things done on my errands list, going to the beach tomorrow … saw a dolphin last night at sunset and got to go to our fav Mexican restaurant on the beach …

It is finally raining here …and it is gasp – cold.
What the heck is going on????  I had to bundle up at the beach this weekend (yes, the Canadians laughed at me but they stopped when I would take their couple shots with their cameras )

Today sucked at work.  Wanted to call Acid to vent …wah!  she is not back yet. wah!  wah!  The bright spot in the day was splitting the last piece of homemade apple pie with Beachy.  Good times!

Happy Friday!

I took this day off and I am so happy I did.  It got a tad cooler overnight so I will be able to have all the windows open as I attack the house.  Yep it the start of my spring cleaning where I slip into OCD and start cleaning closests, cabinets etc rearranging somethings because I can.  It is a fun time.  Better therapy then hitting the bottle of Jack.

A couple of fun notes – saw my Grandma yesterday and true to her form, she has already started laying out her clothes and what she wants to bring to NY when we go 3 WEEKS from now.  Yep, that would be 3 WEEKS from now.  I have not given it that much thought, except for the weather.  It snowed there last night -WTF.  Where is Spring people????  I am lazy, I do not want to haul a jacket around.

Another fun note – I am on my way to being the Auntie Cool for all the kids in my life.  Picked up my friend and her son the other day for school/work because their car was in the shop and that is all he can talk about.  “Mom, I know what we can do, Baggy can pick me up today for school”  or “Mom, can you switch cars with Baggy and she can drive your car” OK, so the kid is really in love with my sun roof which I had open but still, at least he knows my name and what pets are out my house.
