What is that old saying, "The best laid plans of mice and men ..."
well whatever that means, I know it means for me at the close of this beautiful 4 day weekend, I still haven't done much around the house. Instead I haven enjoyed time with friends and family and well, have been busy! Beachy and I went to see the new Pirates movie at this great little theater down on the beach. This place is VERY old but it is quaint and they server beer and wine along with popcorn and snow caps - you really can't beat it. Saturday I did make some head way on the back yard over by the hammock area but I did not plant my new ground cover yet ....and then met up with Beachy, Nolegirl and Echo and crew at the beach for Sand & Symphony. The orchestra was great and the fire works were pretty good too. The weather was perfect. Yesterday I went to a cookout for a little while with Sunshine. I could have stayed longer but I really wanted to read this book I started earlier that morning and I admit, I wanted to watch the NASCAR race. I know, I am a geek.
So far today I have done an abbreviated workout and thought about working out in the yard or going to the beach. I know you are putting your money down on the beach but it is still 50/50 at this time. I have to leave for Dallas tomorrow and I have to do a little more prep on my presentation as well as pack etc. Going to the ball game tonight so I really can't wait to the last minute like I normally do.
Now for comments on taking pic of yard for before and after. Will try but basically picture a run down lawn where the grass has turned to hay because I actually follow the water restrictions. My new nieghbor just had new sod and fence put in her backyard, while beautiful it makes mine more pathetic looking, thank the sweet 61b 8oz baby Jesus that my property is not adjacent to hers, I would probably bring her home value down - LOL. The plants that are alive are all because they are fighters and native. In a word, overgrown or fluffy as I like to call it. My slow progress on Saturday was mainly do to my stopping and cursing my ex every oh I don't know 30 mins. He took some of the better yard and hand tools with him and it makes me cranky. I know I can go buy more but I am stubborn and don't want to. So there. picture me sticking my tongue out right now for the visual.
For those who asked, the BAV program is Echo's hubby and kids that she kindly borrows out (Beachy came up with the great name) when we need a home project done. The "Borrow A V_" program is just hellacool.
Whew - this was a long one - hope you all have a good day and don't forget to say a pray for our soldiers and remember our veterans today.

Have fun at the game tonight. Another trip to D and another week passes by. MH thinks it's so cool you get to go on the cool trips to Texas. My trips pale in comparison. Too funny. Ouch - oh I just pulled a muscle from laughing so hard.
Must do something productive myself today - let's see what will it be??? Oh a blog and then I'm good. Sounds fabulous!
Gee, if I wasn't using my tools, I'd let you borrow them. I can't believe GWH took the yard tools! For what? Is he growing grass in his apt? Men!
Good thing it's raining tonight, and all day tomorrow...no yard work! And maybe those poor plants left will perk up some. It does make one pause, though, that we are on TS #2 and it's only Day 1 of the season. I hope this isn't a preview of things to come.
