Hello Whiskey Wednesday ...

not cause I am sad but because I need to write up some serious BS docs, procedures etc.  Auntie and Unc are relaxing at beach, Beachy actually made it out of snowy Dallas so I told her I would make dinner ...crab legs, rice, fruit and veggies ....YES after a month I made it to the grocery store... good times.  oh and I have to pay some bills!  Yikes reality is interfering with my pretend world!

so back to the BS paperwork, I need some creativity to appear.  or a laugh, oh I will turn on American Idol for that!  Last night was soooo funny.

work flew by today - I was in the zone!  To bad everyday can't be this productive.  My Uncle and Auntie are coming today for two weeks from Chicago.  It was 5 degrees there this morning when they left ...YUCK.  They are in for a treat with some really nice weather.

Life is Good ....

While this week seemed like it would go on forever at work AND there is just way to much stuff going on that is merger related, AND friday was also the last day of Acid's super super who is also one of my buddies AND I am going to really miss her ...2007 so far for me has been just dandy.

I realize how lucky I am to have such good friends and family around me.  The new ones - Beachy's neighbors are just plain fun and they are all about showing her (and her peeps when we are there) all the cool places to hangout in the neighborhood.  They even help fend off the freaks and harmless drunk oldsters if you don't want to be bothered.  good times.  The best part to this arrangement is we pretty much walk everywhere so I am getting some great exercise in.

Alright I am off to get some chores done.  Tomorrow is my mama's birthday and we are going over to LT's  for dinner tonight and secret birthday surprises.  She is turning 71 but she doesn't act like it or show it.  Reality, she has a better social life than me!!!

Of course I went to the beach yesterday ...and we saw a pod of about dozen dolphins early on ...I didn't get any pics but right after sunset, a few were coming back the other way (going home we decided).  I wanted to leave you with my shaky video from my new baby camera of the dolphins at play.  As a bonus, Beachy starts to narrate but for some reason it won't upload!  Any help on this matter is appreciated.

I am so hungry .... I think I am going to have to breakdown and actually go to the grocery store.  I have not done this is what seems like ages, forging off of canned soup, grilled cheese and leftovers from the holidays ....but I am out of bread!  Horrors.  I have to go to the store!  Not that!  Not that!

Yesterday at work was sooooo long.  It had to be the longest day of my life, and I even left early because my new bed came in!  Yes!  Score! Echo and her helpful teenagers met me at the store to pick up my new bed and get it to my house and setup.  It looks so nice - the hobbit bed is gone!  THANKS ECHO!  Will bring extra brownies for the boys on Monday night.

Today was a gorgeous day, even though I had all intentions of doing chores and being responsible - I was in luck and my good friends (Sunhsine & Beachy) called for a beach day.  It was really just what I needed from the long week of travel.  Friday night I ended up staying out much later than I had planned and frankly that didn't help the situation.  Last night started out with dinner with Beachy and some new friends and we ended up at some club near her house that had a live banded that played some great dark and twisty music and then during their breaks played hip-hop dance music.  I was entertained tremendously and I wasn't even drinking.  gotta love Beachy's new digs.  The band was actually pretty darn good.  Loud and cursing.  Good times.

Back from Atlanta ....

It was a good use of time, got to see my new boss lady and actually get to talk with her - hooray.  The big meeting went well.  My report writing did not go so well.  having connectivity issues, some stemming from all the changes they were doing renaming servers ...check out Acid's site for some of the details.  Tomorrow is another day.  Friday, Friday, Friday - yeah!   Have a good one

I am sleepy ...

trip to Atlanta has been so far very uneventful. hope all is well in your corner of the world.

Happy New Year!

I hope everyone had as much fun as I did.  Beachy, Sunshine and I went out for some dinner and drinks (those margaritas were YUMMY) ...then Beachy and I continued with a few more drinks as we surfed between the various New Year's shows and football.   A few drunk dial calls were made to friends and family.  Good times.  It is so nice to be able to walk to where you want to go vs. having to drive on occasions like this.  While I don't have a headache, it was a little slow going this AM  but I am back at home and ready to tackle some projects.  OK , not quite yet since I have been playing with my background and stuff but I just had another piece of leftover bday cake (thanks again RL), the sugar and caffeine is kicking in and I should be good to go...soon!  Thanks again guys (and you know who you are, even you far away ones!) for making my birthday/holiday time so fun and keeping me from going all dark and twisty.

I know I am missing some funny details ...i'll try to post again, with pics before I leave for Atlanta tomorrow AM.

The closing of a fantastic brithday month ...

last night at Beachy's she threw a small BBQ party mainly for my bday plus to celebrate the fact that we totally got her moved and out of her boxes in less than 48hrs or so - which includes eating downstairs at her neighbors at one point - yep some good times.

I got some beautiful flowers from Echo and her hubby and more JD from Sunshine and Piasan #2.  Oh and some bottle of ale with a pig on the label from SM and her sweetie.  I am such a lightweight that I didn't even tap into their bottles, just worked on the one I brought.  It was simple food fair (dogs, burgers, mac salad, deviled eggs, chips/dip etc) but Beachy's bro brought YUMMY homemade birthday cake and Catlady brought flamingo cookies.  Geez I even got candles on my cake which has not happened in years.  I know I am missing something but ...well I am not quite awake yet!  It was just FUN.  In fact it was so fun that Piasan #2 wants her to throw him a bday party at her new place.  Thanks Beachy for the extravaganza. 

oh I forgot to mentioned that more birthday miracles occured.  her new futon/couch cover was cleaned in one day by the dry cleaners even though it reeked of incense.  Beachy had bought the floor model cover from this store that has a funny manager, nice guy but dear sweet xmas baby Jesus does that guy burn a lot of incense.  You have to take a deep breath of fresh air before you walk in - no kidding.  Another bday miracle was that it was another fine gorgeous day - sorry all my northern friends   And well let's be frank, Beachy's PC is running enough for me to post!  For some reason the spell checker won't come up but other than that it is limping along.

I am off.  I have got to get home to get some stuff done before tonight's festivities.  I think the beach pub crawl is on.  I got some pics, will post later.

Moving Stories Part II

Beachy's new pad is looking great!  of course both of us are getting sore and we both have bruises from they jack ass way we move furniture when left to our own devices but it is worth it.  I would say about 95% of her stuff will be done today by party time (6pm EST)  and she won't have much to do in the New Year.  Just the little stuff like drape hanging and touch up decorations.  She is so busy with travel in Jan that I am glad to have been of help now.  I HATE having to deal with boxes and such when I am traveling and in/out of the house.  You are so tired from work but yet you feel compelled to put your house in order.  Well, at least I do.  My home is my sanctuary where I can turn it all off and be whatever I want to be.

All of the rearranging and decorating is getting me in the mood to get back to work on my house.  After the divorce I did some somethings, mainly out of necessity but now I think I am ready to start doing things for me.  The holidays have been a little hard but ...well, not going there!   My new bed should be here by the 15th or sooner (yeah) so bye bye hobbit bed, hello good night sleep!  I toyed with the fact that I really should have saved that money for other things but what the hell, sleep is important to well being.

Off to make mac salad for tonight and get some chores done before I head out.
